porch Time with peonies, Blues and Greens

Are you all enjoying the warmer weather right now? It’s been beautiful here in Michigan with a mix of warm days, cool days, a little rain, and a refreshing summer breeze.

I took the time to grab a few Peony blooms to add to the porch before they all drooped over and faded. If you want to know how I keep my Peony plants from falling over you can see it here, and it’s a cheap and easy fix.

My veggie garden is mixed amongst my Peonies and I’ve been taking care of that right now. Everything I’ve planted is up. I’m praying for an abundant harvest this year. I did add a few more raised garden beds as well as garden grow bags to expand my planting area.

My front porch is my safe haven. I spend my reading time, my praying time, and nature watching time here every day. I love to watch the birds eat from the feeders while I read. It’s a peaceful place to get away to in this crazy, messed up world.

All my Peonies come from my Grama Reds garden so they have a special meaning to me. This fall I will have to divide some of them and find new homes around my property and landscaping. I’ll have to remember to add that to my fall do do list.

Another thing on my mind is to save the seeds from my vegetable garden this year. I’ve noticed seeds bought from the store this year had a terrible germination rate of less than 10%. I have other family member that have said the same so it’s up to me to keep those heirloom seeds for another years harvest.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful weekend!
